What is PTA Council?

Welcome!

The Beverly Hills Council of PTAs provides leadership, advocacy, communication, and funding to the Beverly Hills Unified School District.

Our membership is made up of parents, students, staff, and community members who volunteer countless hours a year. We all work together tirelessly for one common cause - to provide ALL students with an excellent public education.

At the Council level, we work closely with District personnel and the Superintendent to communication and direction as it applies to all our students. Our PTAs run volunteer programs for the classrooms hold special events that build community and improve communication through newsletters and informational meetings.

Many of our enrichment programs and the much-needed classroom supplies are funded by our PTAs. Research shows that parent involvement is one of the main predictors of student achievement.

The PTA, while nonpartisan, is also a politically active lobbying organization, supporting school funding measures as well as legislation to support public schools and the well being of children and their families.

As a recent National PTA poll indicates, an overwhelming 93% of public school parents said that education plays a major role in their decision about which candidate to support in any election year.
