English Learner Program

The following programs are offered to all students who are English Learners. Please see the EL Teacher at your school for more information on the programs below and after-school assistance programs.
  • Structured English Immersion (SEI) with daily English Language Development (ELD). This model provides an English acquisition process in which nearly all classroom instruction is in English but some native language support and Specially Designed Academic Instruction in English (SDAIE) is provided to make all instruction comprehensible for English learners at the beginning or early intermediate levels. English Language Development (ELD) is provided daily.
  • English Language Classroom (ELC) is for students who are English learners (EL) who have acquired reasonable fluency in English. All instruction is in English with Specially Designed Academic Instruction in English (SDAIE) strategies utilized to make curriculum understandable to English Learners at the intermediate level or above. English Language Development (ELD) is provided daily.
  • English Mainstream Classroom (EMC) is for students whose initial test results identify them as Fluent English Proficient (I-FEP) students. This classroom is designed for English only (EO), FEP students, and students reclassified as FEP. All instruction is provided in English with English curriculum materials. English Language Development (ELD) is provided daily.
