Beverly Hills, CA (August 25, 2026) – The Beverly Hills Unified School District partnered with the Beverly Hills Police Department during the second week of school for “Popsicles with the Police,” creating opportunities for students to connect with the officers who serve and support their school community.
Members of the Beverly Hills Police Department’s Community Relations Unit, School Resource Officers, and members of Patrol visited Beverly Vista Middle School, El Rodeo Elementary School, Horace Mann Elementary School, and Beverly Hills Preschool, handing out popsicles and spending time with students across each campus.
The event reflects the strong partnership between BHUSD and BHPD, which extends throughout the school year through campus safety, emergency preparedness, training, communication, and continued collaboration in support of students and staff.
“What makes Beverly Hills special is the way our community shows up for our students,” said BHUSD Superintendent Dr. Alex Cherniss. “Our Police Department does not simply respond when we need them; they are present, engaged, and invested in our schools and in the lives of our students. That relationship matters. Our students feel that commitment every day. It is one of the reasons Beverly Hills is such an extraordinary place to grow up.”
BHUSD, the Beverly Hills Police Department, and the Beverly Hills Fire Department continue to work closely as three important pillars of the Beverly Hills community, united by a shared commitment to the safety and well-being of students and families.
“Popsicles with the Police” offered a simple way to begin the school year by bringing those partnerships directly to students and continuing to strengthen the relationships that make Beverly Hills a special place to learn and grow.
