Horace Mann STEM Night Brings Science to Life for Students and Families

Beverly Hills, CA (September 30, 2026) – Horace Mann Elementary School welcomed students and families for an evening of discovery at STEM Night on Thursday, September 24. Spearheaded by the Horace Mann PTA, the event brought science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to life through interactive activities that encouraged students to explore, create, and ask questions.

From examining animal skeletons at the X-ray Lab to building in the mobile woodworking bus, students experienced science through hands-on learning. Construction activities invited them to explore engineering, while dry ice demonstrations and experiments with bubbles, balloon helicopters, and flying objects sparked curiosity about how the world works.

The evening connected learning with play, giving students opportunities to try new ideas and discover new interests alongside their families. Across the activities, Horace Mann’s Huskies practiced the observation, creativity, and problem-solving skills that support learning in the classroom and beyond.

STEM Night also celebrated the partnership between Horace Mann and its families. By bringing the school community together around discovery, the event created a shared experience where students and adults could learn and explore together.

“When we give children opportunities to build, experiment, and ask questions, we help them discover what they are capable of,” said BHUSD Board of Education President Judy Manouchehri. “With science scores increasing by 9% across BHUSD in the last year, we are proud to continue expanding opportunities for students to explore and discover. STEM Night brings that spirit of learning to life and gives families a chance to be part of it. We are deeply grateful to the Horace Mann PTA and Horace Mann staff for creating an experience that celebrates learning and brings our community together.”

Through events like STEM Night, Horace Mann and the Horace Mann PTA help expand learning opportunities and strengthen the connections that make the school community thrive. BHUSD is proud to celebrate this partnership and the curiosity it inspires in students.
