BHUSD Announces New Assistant Superintendent, Education Services and Principal of Horace Mann School

Dustin Seemann – Assistant Superintendent, Education Services

Mr. Seemann brings a wealth of experience as a teacher, counselor and administrator to the Beverly Hills Unified School District. He was awarded “Illinois School Counselor of the Year” in 2012, and was a semi-finalist for “American School Counselor of the Year” in both 2014 and 2015.

In his most recent role, Seemann directed professional learning programs for certified and classified staff, while overseeing instructional technology, and supervising counselors, social workers and school psychologists in Illinois’s second largest high school district.

“I am honored to work alongside the BHUSD community and staff. Their dedication to assisting students with becoming college and career ready is inspiring,” says Seemann, “I look forward to supporting the work on creating opportunities for the students of Beverly Hills!"

Seemann replaces Dr. Jennifer Tedford, former Chief Academic Officer, who left BHUSD to become principal at El Segundo High School.

Dr. Juliet Fine – Principal, Horace Mann School

Dr. Juliet Fine comes to BHUSD from the William S. Hart Union High School District in Santa Clarita, where she served as Assistant Principal. With a focus on student and results-oriented leadership, Dr. Fine has built an impressive career here in California as both a teacher and administrator.

"I am honored and excited to serve as the next principal of Horace Mann. I am looking forward to partnering with students, families, teachers and staff in preparing students for success in both school and life,” says Fine, “I also aspire to continue the rich learning traditions established by the Horace Mann staff and leadership. Go Huskies!"

Dr. Fine received her Doctorate of Education from USC, and has published and presented extensive work on academic student achievement, as well as school culture and curriculum.

Dr. Fine is replacing Dana Findley, who after supporting the District in a variety of administrative roles over the past few years, is returning to BHHS as the Dance teacher.

Both Mr. Seemann and Dr. Fine were approved in a unanimous vote by the BHUSD Board of Education at its meeting on Tuesday June 27th.
