Questions okay so I had a question about this one I saw the contract again there is nothing in the narrative that I could see how much this was for and I once I started reading the Countryman it's not the contract it's an agreement I did see that there was two services that we are getting from paragon two different amounts when was I can't remember the amounts but what is the total amount of this contract because there was two circulations and that payment that's it so not to exceed so I had questions about the agreement I was worded so cuz it was two different distinct things going on with that agreement specialized construction accounting and going through the sperm is is certainly going to give us an opportunity to get started as we look forward with the next phase in Project this is also that your events this is up and running this is going to be a system that can easily be taking over play somebody that's in house it just the business the kind of service that we need right now at this time and so that's why we have the contract written away that it is it's it 20 day out contract if it will be and so it it provides us with the insurances that we have the opportunity to go back and look too Adderall reconciled to where we are now today and then gets us off a really good foot going forward and we believe that in a short. it's it's looking to see where we are now but there's been so many delays in projects all those costs have gone up so it's it's really getting a here and now but because of those delays how how much of those cost going up because all the construction costs are rising so that's why having this team in this place with highly specialized people with the right software will help us not only reconcile but also get a really zactly where we are now but then also that next step is what is it look like when forward how much money a new timeline another reasoning in that that in-house team was which we shouldn't be having as board members you shouldn't have to ask that question yeah we should be can you that information weekly every other week with our Communications that's another reason why I wanted an in-house team to build to work together people we work with everyday cuz those are questions the communities asking you should be able to answer those as board members when you run into community members will get those answers this is part of the tell completion to putting this team together to get an accurate picture of where we're at  any further comment  all in favor supposed play space that we have available and another great advantage of having this in-house team we did this together and so not only did we've an opportunity really truly assess the past that we have no buildings but also to look at some of the construction as well cuz we spend time with Amy and Horseman so we will they will spend and we will be presenting that information to you shortly about the Goldstein discussion who is who's addressing this tonight is this system going to be compatible for Future Let's a smartphone use things like that because I'm seeing that we're going to head in the direction where I'm students especially at the high school with smartphones will be able to pay redo something that way and I just want to make sure we're going to be able to Encompass that when the time comes yes it is in order to pay both Christy Shaffer and Heather Ohio and Anthony Talbert worked on this project of finding a play of sale system for the cafeteria Services the one that we have now has been in place numerous years and movie 409 I think it's been in place since 7th and this one came to the attention we looked at actually three or four systems but this one came to the attention at the Aries sis conference most of the districts that are using Ares the student formation system are purchasing this point of sales what is a system cuz they tie so well together and it will stop a lot of duplicate Standalone work that we're doing now that system does have a mobile app goes with it young board member in my salad days and they say Mary Ann McCabe brought us a point-of-sale system the POS okay Jake Bannister with board president I don't know if any of you in the peanut gallery remember watching any of that but whatever happened to that POS it cost us a fortune it kind coincided with Chartwells doing our lunches I would call a hundred thousand dollars I could be wrong  I'm your around sort of in and out when I was can sort of in and out I do believe that it was in that was called The Lunchbox system as I recall which I know how to use but it did corn side more with char well we went Chartwells left they reverted back to the old system that we had been using since like I said pre-2007 2000 the thing that which is why you're and they've come back to me the the little committee two or three times and I put them back again and again with more questions before I would bring this forward in terms of who's using it how's it been how's it work in with other schools how much Technology support it has four is it updating all types of questions so I feel very comfortable bringing this back then every question that I brought them in the list of schools that are using them throughout the state of California is voluminous so we're not out there alone queso quick question I recall that one of the bugaboos with the POS system right what is that kids were not loading cash onto it before before how are we doing now with compliance so we're really good now okay great I think a few years ago the board's mandate to try to go cashless so we are we're not 100% Cassius but we're very close what we do is if you give us if student X gives us clean up of a $20 for food item  you buy the food item in the rest goes on your account so we don't give grab them change we don't carry change we put the cash stupid system for them exact fine I didn't get update I'm so thrilled to hear have the Food Services caught up with some people in arrears where they weren't that's the one thing that we like about it is that it sends parents low balance and negative balance emails and it sends them out we can the time so we can see the Mountain Daily weekly that was a problem with the low Manpower and that department we were have we were getting to the parents and they would say why didn't you tell me my kid didn't have any money in the account which thought they would know but we would let them know they didn't have the money or when they were really significantly low and we did carry some very low balance as we actually brought some staff in to help collect money but this doing better on collections or do almost much better on Collections and it again we brought in extra staff to work with Heather just on telling those notices calling the parents and collecting the money this system does it automatically so that's why I mean it takes a lot of redundancy where I had a person doing that the system now takes the email that is in an Aries the email that the parent has an Aries Aries and and since that negative that low balance negative balance report to the parent like I said as much as we would like it to wonderful thank you I do I do one follow-up question I'm glad to hear that we're improving our systems but here's the question about the cafeteria Hower when can we begin ocean about possibly improving the quality of the cafeteria food because it is is horrible it is horrible and so I mean I I'm sorry said we actually have been having a discussion on. Remember this is very basic so let me jump in the number one complaint that the kids complain about and  this is just not right I mean the food is I don't give it to my eye I wouldn't buy it for my kids I would even punish it understand by having them eat it that's how terrible it is and parents are upset I mean this is going on and it's just getting it's not getting better and I'm glad we're we're doing some improvement to our systems but I'd like to really get to the core of the actual meal what I don't I'm not going to say that it's wonderful I don't know that it's horrible because I actually eat it a lot for lunch personally but we do have participation records actually show that then we will bring back to you and when we we are going to answer that question I sent we're sending our food services director to districts that are like ours that have very free or reduced nnn hi what could we have such a low fare reduce count that we only can rely upon money can't from the students so how to get that nice balance of staying in the black with healthy food I actually sent her to she was going on a family trip and I sent her to San dieguito School District where they have a very similar population to our population their basic Aid they have low-fare reduce yet they're managed to have very creative items on their there they're their cafeteria they have sushi they have a farm-to-table so the weight of figure it out is to figure out what other districts are doing and doing it right and so that's what we are doing this summer is freaking out that are doing it correctly  Miss present I think the discussions now done outside of the scope of the agenda item for the vote it is an important issue that you can be brought back to us all in favor motion carries and we are in planning and Facilities 7 a.m. ocean please I'll make a motion to approve the amendment number 20 with the LR4 Design Services High School b-1b no second motion by mr. Goldstein just made two Doctor Bracket and I do I'm going to just pay you back on or earlier conversation I really would like to have a more are we heads of discussion about the cafeteria food services and invite the kids to come and being a believe them don't believe me can die tonight that's typically something we should be doing every 5 years of serving your kids I just wanted to play doctor bragi I think we're on your 5th month anniversary or 6/2 year and you're still standing you look good thank God you're doing well and I'm just too what Isabel's just could have helped the food it is a really is it was real good for a little while with Chartwells and the kind of went back to ya when Noah and I were here and you I think your husband went to the school too I don't know food was good we all win in the traffic to standing-room-only my right now or else was I mean but you know I think the if I'm not mistaken the school lunch obama-era mandates are being lifted so will that give us some more flexibility to bring in not necessarily worst food but healthier more interesting food that are so stringent on guidelines something we should talk about and I think when we give you that report we will from what I've heard Unfortunately they have been a lot lifted at the California has decided to maintain them so we have maintained a the Obama nutritional stand can you get an opinion if federal law supersedes state law yes I was typically it does but I don't know it will get out we'll have all that for you but I think mrs. hackers on to something we could do better can you when you first came here you would mention that they were doing things a little differently out in your neck of the woods and we love for that to be part of the conversation as well just on the subject of the quality of the food some of you were students in the high school do you remember because when I was on the board in the seventies the quality of the food at the high school was the Talk of the Town  but I will say that now and then you know the back nine that I'm in now I wouldn't eat I would recommend that stuff back then as a teenager yeah course 10 burgers and yogurt and cookies were great quality food I mean I could tell you where to Colombo frozen yogurt we have David's cookies and the absolutely yeah so play, Daddy's is we talked about again damping are our food program we don't want to bring in yesteryear cuz yesteryear leads to diabetes so you need to to think progressively and we talked about somebody talking about taking field trips you know there's been a lot of specials done and what they're doing you're up with school lunches and I think we should pay close attention to every not just Local Schools like ours cuz that may not be the solution ring is adjourned
