Transition Advisory Committees

As part of the the Reconfiguration process, we have identified specific parameters and Committee Facilitators that will ensure that we address all priorities and meet our deadlines by the upcoming school year.

The work of each committee is linked to a broader set of directives, strategies and initiatives set by the reconfiguration Steering Committee structured as:  Transition Advisory Committees and District Planning Committees.  Team structure, leadership and roles will be aligned with our goals and measures for success so that we create a meaningful process and outcomes.

Each committee is comprised of a BHUSD administrative leader who will serve as "Facilitator" and will include parents and staff from all 5 schools and individuals from our community at large. Transition Advisory Committee members will be selected by the Facilitator (in collaboration with the Steering Committee). Participation will be based on the interest forms that were submitted by parents/guardians in November. Our staff is formally invited to submit a request by email to the appropriate Facilitator to join the OPEN committees listed below.

The following “Advisory” committees have been identified to date. Additional “Advisory” committees will be formed as needed to ensure a smooth transition for our students and families.

  • Extra-Curricular (Middle) -  Facilitator:  Kevin Allen & Dustin Seemann
  • Safety - Facilitator:  Chris Hertz


The following “District Planning” committees have been formed to determine ongoing logistics and academic operations for BHUSD.

  • Curriculum Development - Facilitator:  Dustin Seemann and Middle School Department Chairs, High School Department Chairs, Middle School staff, K-8 counselors, and administration.
  • Master Bell Schedule (Middle) - Facilitator:  Kevin Allen & Jeanne McCrea
  • Master Schedule (Middle) - Facilitator:  Kevin Allen & Rich Waters
  • Master Schedule (TK-5) - Sarah Kaber, Kevin Painter, Juliet Fine, Craig Bugbee, Chris Reagan
  • Outdoor Field Trips - Facilitator: Leonidas Tarca
