FACILITY AND CONSTRUCTION COMMITTEE (FCC) GUIDELINES

The mission of the Facility and Construction Committee, hereafter referred to as the FCC, to inform the public of the District’s ability to effectively manage its facilities and construction program by communicating the results of its work to the Board of Education, and by educating the public regarding current and planned construction projects within the District.

The Beverly Hills Unified School District’s FCC is designed to act as an independent advisory committee to the Board of Education regarding the District’s facilities and construction program. The FCC does not have the authority to act on behalf of the District or the Board of Education.

The FCC reviews and makes recommendations to the Board of Education regarding current and planned construction projects, and suggests measures to overcome potential budget shortfalls or constraints and improve the delivery of new and modernized facilities.  Such recommendations are made to ensure the District is maximizing its resources optimally, and is able to complete construction projects in a timely and fiscally responsible manner.

The FCC receives information and reports from the Facilities department and Bond Program Manager and, with this information, may identify projects for in-depth analysis. Members of the FCC should be able to understand hurdles that may interrupt or slow Master Plan projects and be able to communicate this information to the Board of Education and the community.
