The BHUSD Command Center is the district’s dedicated security operations center. It is staffed by trained personnel who monitor over 1,500 live camera feeds across all school sites, working closely with law enforcement to respond to any safety concerns within seconds.

Artificial intelligence tools help enhance real-time threat detection and situational awareness in our schools. From identifying unusual activity to supporting early intervention, AI is an essential layer in BHUSD’s multi-tiered safety strategy.
To protect students online, BHUSD uses Gaggle to monitor district-issued accounts for signs of self-harm, bullying, threats, and inappropriate content. Alerts are reviewed 24/7 and escalated as needed to ensure student wellness and timely response.
BHUSD has installed advanced vape detectors in key areas on campus to discourage vaping and promote a healthy environment. These detectors notify school officials in real time, supporting swift intervention and student education around substance use.
