Beverly Hills, CA (May 20, 2025) – In honor of Jewish American Heritage Month, the Beverly Vista Middle School (BVMS) Jewish Culture Club hosted a meaningful celebration and conversation with Avraham Yarden, a proud warrior of Israel during British rule, on May 15th.
Through powerful firsthand stories of courage and resilience, Mr. Yarden offered students a deeply personal lens into Jewish history. The experience reminded students that education isn’t only in textbooks, it’s in the voices of those who lived it.
“Hearing directly from someone who shaped history helps bring learning to life in ways no classroom alone can,” said Dr. Alex Cherniss, BHUSD Superintendent. “We’re proud of our students for creating spaces that foster understanding, connection, and cultural appreciation.”
BHUSD is proud to support experiences that celebrate cultural heritage and help every learner reach their full potential.
