Beverly Hills, CA (April 18, 2026) – Beverly Hills Unified School District (BHUSD) proudly highlights a memorable and meaningful learning experience for Beverly Hills High School (BHHS) Culinary Arts students, who recently had the opportunity to work alongside acclaimed chef Giacomino Drago during the City of Beverly Hills Mayoral Installation.

As part of this special civic event, select advanced Culinary Arts students stepped beyond the classroom and into a real-world culinary environment, assisting in food preparation and service while learning directly from one of the industry’s most respected leaders. Chef Drago, known for his celebrated Italian restaurants and longstanding influence in the culinary world, provided students with invaluable insight, mentorship, and hands-on training at the highest level.

This experience reflects the strength of BHUSD’s Career Technical Education pathways, where students are not only learning foundational skills but also applying them in authentic, high-profile settings. Through strong partnerships with community leaders and industry professionals, BHUSD continues to expand opportunities that connect education with real-world experience.

“This is what meaningful learning looks like,” said BHUSD Superintendent Dr. Alex Cherniss. “Our students are engaging with professionals, building confidence, and developing skills that will serve them well beyond high school.”

BHUSD extends its gratitude to Chef Giacomino Drago and the City of Beverly Hills for their partnership and commitment to supporting student learning. Experiences like this highlight the district’s dedication to Educational Excellence and preparing students for future success.
