Beverly Hills, CA (March 3, 2025) – The Beverly Hills High School (BHHS) Administration is proud to announce that the BHHS School Counseling Team has been awarded the Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) designation by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA). This esteemed recognition is granted to schools that demonstrate an exemplary commitment to comprehensive, data-informed school counseling programs aligned with the ASCA National Model.
Since the RAMP program's inception, about a 1,000 schools nationwide have earned this honor. In California, there are currently 18 high schools that have achieved RAMP status, reflecting the rigorous standards required for this designation. The BHHS Counseling Team's accomplishment underscores its dedication to fostering academic achievement, career planning, and social/emotional development for all students.
The journey to RAMP designation is a rigorous process that requires school counseling teams to collect data over an entire academic year, implement the ASCA National Model framework effectively, and demonstrate evidence of direct and indirect services that lead to improved student outcomes. This comprehensive approach ensures that the counseling program is both effective and aligned with national standards.
Working alongside the counseling team on this process over the past two years, it was incredible to witness not only the accountability the school counselors held themselves to but also how the process illuminated both their strengths and areas for growth. I am thrilled to see them achieve this well-deserved recognition.
- Dr. Dustin Seemann, Assistant Superintendent
Principal Drew Stewart highlighted the tangible benefits of the counseling team's efforts: "The positive impact of our counselors' work is evident in various areas, from the tailored support provided to our English Learner students to the responsive adjustments made in our course selection process based on community feedback."
The BHHS Counseling Team will be formally recognized at ASCA's annual conference in July 2025.
