Beverly Hills, CA (February 24, 2026) – The Beverly Hills Unified School District Board of Education has voted to approve the appointment of Coach Jeff Bailey as Head Football Coach and Director of Strength and Conditioning at Beverly Hills High School, marking a transformational moment for athletics in Beverly Hills.
Coach Bailey brings more than 30 years of experience building high-performing athletic programs across Southern California. Throughout his career, he has earned 179 victories, led 18 playoff appearances, secured 11 league championships, and has never lost a championship final. His record of competitive excellence and program development positions Beverly Hills High School for a significant leap forward.
A former UCLA football player, Bailey is widely respected for establishing disciplined, structured systems that elevate entire athletic departments. In addition to leading the football program, he will design and oversee comprehensive strength and conditioning programming for all student-athletes at Beverly Hills High School, implementing a unified performance standard across sports.
“This is a defining moment for our athletic program and for our community,” said Dr. Alex Cherniss, Superintendent of Beverly Hills Unified School District. “Coach Bailey’s track record speaks for itself. He builds cultures rooted in discipline, preparation, and integrity. His leadership will elevate our football program and strengthen every athletic team on our campus. This reflects our commitment to Educational Excellence in every arena.”
Board of Education President Judith Manouchehri emphasized the significance of the appointment for the community.
“Beverly Hills expects excellence,” said Manouchehri. “This hire represents a clear investment in the future of our students and our athletic programs. Coach Bailey’s history of building strong, competitive teams aligns with our values of achievement and community pride. We are confident that our student-athletes will rise to meet this new standard.”
Coach Bailey stated that his vision extends beyond wins and losses.
“When a student puts on a jersey, it represents their teammates, their family, their school, and their community,” Bailey said. “Family is at the center of everything I believe in. We are going to build a disciplined, united program that this community can rally behind. When discipline becomes your standard, winning follows.”
Under Bailey’s leadership, Beverly Hills High School will implement a comprehensive approach to athletic development centered on preparation, accountability, and long-term growth. His appointment signals a renewed commitment to competitive excellence and positions the football program to enter a new era defined by structure, unity, and high expectations.
The district anticipates that Coach Bailey’s leadership will have an immediate and lasting impact across all athletic programs, strengthening school pride and reinforcing the role of athletics as a vital extension of the educational experience.
