BHHS Celebrates Student Effort with PTSA-Sponsored CAASPP Carnival

Beverly Hills, CA (April 29, 2025) – After weeks of focus and perseverance during CAASPP testing, Beverly Hills High School (BHHS) students were rewarded with a full day of fun at the CAASPP Carnival, generously organized by the BHHS Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA).

The CAASPP (California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress) provides critical insights into student learning and growth. Strong performance not only helps students better understand their mastery of key skills, but also contributes to college and career readiness (CCR) designations, school rankings, and future placement opportunities. While these scores don't directly affect students' grades, they play a significant role in shaping academic pathways for both individuals and the school as a whole.

To recognize the dedication that testing demands, the PTSA transformed the BHHS field into a vibrant carnival, offering students a celebration of their hard work and resilience.

Our students really rose to the occasion during testing, and the CAASPP Carnival was the perfect way to celebrate their commitment. We are so thankful to the PTSA for creating this incredible experience for our students.

The field came alive with energy and excitement, featuring rides like the Zipper, giant inflatable slides, and classic carnival games. Thanks to vendor Steve Nero of The Fun Company, students enjoyed an unforgettable experience right on campus. Planning also included key input from ASB student leaders, helping ensure the event reflected student voices and interests.

"Our goal was simple, to celebrate our students and make sure they felt seen for their hard work," said Jenn Pedersen, BHHS PTSA Co-President. "It was energizing to see the field filled with smiles after such a demanding testing season."

Additional support from the Beverly Hills Education Foundation (BHFA) helped make the event even more memorable, highlighting the strength of community partnerships at BHHS.

The CAASPP Carnival captured what makes BHHS special: a commitment to excellence, wellness, and a community that comes together to lift every learner.
