Beverly Hills, CA (April 29, 2025) – Board Members Russell Stuart and Sigalie Sabag, together with Communications Media Specialist Colby Gilardian, proudly represented the Beverly Hills Unified School District (BHUSD) in Washington this week, standing among California’s top education leaders as part of the California School Boards Association's Coast2Coast Federal Advocacy Program.

Over several days of briefings and strategic meetings, the BHUSD delegation engaged directly with members of Congress, senior federal officials, and leading education policy experts. High-level discussions centered on strengthening local control, securing sustainable federal funding, enhancing student safety, and protecting the future of public education.

A highlight of the advocacy trip was forging new partnerships with key congressional leaders, including Representative Kevin Kiley, whose support for educational excellence and local empowerment aligns with BHUSD’s mission.

"We came to Washington to stand for what’s right - parental rights, local control, and real opportunity for our kids," said Board Member Russell Stuart. "Education decisions should be shaped by families and communities, not dictated by federal bureaucrats. We’re here to make sure those voices are heard."

BHUSD’s presence in Washington reinforced its reputation as a district that not only demands the highest standards at home but also defends those standards on the national stage.
