Beverly Hills, CA (May 9, 2025) – The Beverly Hills Unified School District (BHUSD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Steven J. Suttle as the new principal of Horace Mann Elementary School, pending formal approval by the BHUSD Board of Education at its upcoming meeting on Tuesday. He is bringing with him more than 15 years of experience in leading school communities with heart, purpose, and results.

Dr. Suttle has served as a principal in multiple California school districts, where his work led to substantial academic gains, state and national recognition, and campus cultures centered around strong relationships and student growth. His schools have earned honors such as the Gold Ribbon Award, PBIS Platinum and Silver Awards, and consistent high performance on the California School Dashboard.

Dr. Suttle’s leadership is shaped by a background in educational psychology, a doctorate in Educational Leadership, and advanced training from both Harvard University’s Data Wise Improvement Process and the National Institute for School Leadership. We are thrilled to welcome him into the Horace Mann community, where his presence will only strengthen our shared commitment to students, staff, and families.
