Beverly Hills, CA (May 26, 2025) – As part of Jewish American Heritage Month, Beverly Hills High School had the honor of hosting two extraordinary guests: 102-year-old Holocaust survivor and Nazi fighter Joseph Alexander, and 95-year-old Avraham Yarden, a proud defender of Israel during British rule.

Their powerful stories of survival, resistance, and resilience left a lasting impression on students, offering a rare opportunity to learn history directly from those who lived it.

This was a deeply moving experience for our students,” said BHHS Principal Drew Stewart. “It reminded us why listening to living history matters, and why we must continue to learn from the past to shape a better future.

The event was organized by the BHHS Jewish Club, led by student President Jillian Samadi, and moderated by BHUSD parent Maytal Fattal. Their dedication made this unforgettable conversation possible.
