Beverly Hills, CA (December 12, 2025) – On Thursday, December 11, the Men-Tell Health Club hosted BHUSD Board of Education Member Russell Stuart for an impactful conversation centered on mental health, resilience, and the power of surrounding yourself with the right people.
The Men-Tell Health Club was founded by students to create space for honest, open dialogue around the unique emotional challenges young men face. The timing of Stuart’s visit, just days before final exams, offered students a reminder that strength is not just measured in grades, but in character, self-awareness, and connection.
Stuart, an entrepreneur and father, spoke candidly about his personal journey and the lessons learned along the way. He shared six core values that shape his life: Responsibility, Struggle, Skill, Mentorship, Mission, and Service. He emphasized that young men must be intentional about choosing the people around them, their “tribe,” who will challenge them, celebrate them, and help them grow.
“You cannot do this alone,” Stuart told the group. “Every young man deserves a circle that tells the truth, holds each other accountable, and stays in the fight together”.
Superintendent Dr. Alex Cherniss, who was in attendance, praised both the club and Stuart’s message.
“Russell Stuart delivered a message our students will carry with them for years to come,” said Dr. Cherniss. “It was honest, emotional, and deeply inspiring. He reminded us that strength begins with connection, and that vulnerability is not weakness, but courage.”
Men-Tell Health is one of more than 80 active student-led clubs at Beverly Hills High School, each one driven by student passion, purpose, and leadership. To learn more about BHHS clubs, visit bhhs.bhusd.org/asb
